Guest hosted by Tracey Ernst of The Steam Wench’s Salon and Vancouverites for Steampunk. This is a very informal event, on a drop-in basis. If you have a project you’d like to work on, want to tinker on something new, or just want to come and hang out with other steampunks working on their projects and socialize, come join us!
WHAT WE PROVIDE:
– An open workspace with very large tables
– A domestic sewing machine
– Tracy’s tools, including hot-glue gun, Gorilla Super Glue, E6000 (both will glue lightweight metal), various pliers and snips, scissors, sewing shears, measuring tape, pins, seam rippers, and pencils and pens
– A couple of boxes of scrap metal bits and found jewelry stuff
– Some reference books for ideas / inspiration
WHAT YOU CAN BRING:
– Yourself
– Your current project
– Whatever you want to work with
– Tools
– Any stuff you want to share / trade / donate
There are only three restrictions, which are in place so everyone can respect the workspace we’ve been donated, as well as respect one another and one another’s projects:
1. No projects which are too industrial, messy, or highly scented.
2. Food and beverages can ONLY be consumed behind the back counter.
3. Respect and share:respect the space we are generously loaned, respect your fellow crafters, and share the small space.
Also, do note this is a professional workroom, and it is full of very sharp things and pointy bits, and as such is NOT small-child friendly.
If you’re not sure what to make or have any questions, just ask!
